Book Review: Couples Who Pray
Couples Who Pray
Couples Who Pray by Squire Rushnell and Louise Duart it gives a couple the opportunity to take a 40 day prayer challenge together. The book focuses on the details a couple prays about not so much that they pray together daily although praying as a couple is the most intimate act between a man and a women.
I really enjoyed this book and as my husband and I started to pray together we became closer in a more intimate way. I really enjoyed taking initial questionnaire prepared with the Institute of Studies of Religion from Baylor University found in the appendix. It was very eye opening to the relationship I had with my husband and God. Questions included sections for the husband and the wife. In the wife section one question was that many people think marriages go through cycles over and over and asks you to rate where you would place your marriage at the present time. This was what caught my eye on the options listed. This book helped my husband and I communicate better on other subjects relevant to our lives. I definitely recommend this book to couples newly married or have been married for several years. I would not recommend this book to a couple who is recently dating or engaged because it does bring you to a very intimate level with your spouse that should be kept in marriage.
