Day 2: Power Ranger Birthday Party – I picked a Pinata!
Power Ranger Birthday Party
Now its Day 2 and I have gotten all the items out that I have that I may use to make this fabulous birthday party for my soon to be 5 yr old and my nephew who will also be 5. They are 8 days apart so this will be their 2nd birthday party they get to share.
My sister is excellent at many many things did I say MANY things, just not planning birthday parties!
Birthday parties in our family were a huge deal, my mother made sure that she made ours birthdays a special day and I wanted to continue that tradition when I had my own birthday.
I’m glad my kids right now appreciate the parties because I know in a year or two they won’t want me to make a big deal of them.
So back to my sister she is great coming up with ideas and making cakes but not so much putting them together. I on the other hand am very creative and will figure things out. So my challenge this time is to create a fabulous birthday party with little to no money. I don’t have the luxury of spending the $50 I normally do so it will be a challenge but you get to see how I do.
I already know I will need to spend money on eggs, milk and tape because I need them for the cake and to put up my decorations. I used all my tape for Christmas and school projects so I need to get more.
Now on to why I wrote this post. I figured out what I want to make as the pinata. You see its a tradition for my family to have pinatas at birthday parties.
Here is the Big Reveal!!! drum roll please! I am going to make a Power Ranger Samurai Red Helmet pinata.
Don’t worry just like I made a tutorial for the Pirate Treasure Chest Pinata I will do the same for this!
I also started writing ideas. But my biggest thing to work on today is invites because they need to be in the mail on Saturday. Don’t worry those who are coming were already invited thru Facebook so its official! Most have RSVP’d already. I’m not inviting my son’s school friends because he is sharing a party and since its at our house my nephew has to travel and most of his friends would not be able to make the trip to our place so to be fair it will be family friends and kids and family. Don’t worry for these 5 yr old boys there will be atleast 26 people here so plenty of people will be here to make their day special.
Pictured above is some of the items I pulled out yesterday from my birthday bin. I have more carstock than that and much more tissue paper than pictured. The Toys story puzzles are the gifts for the boys I got those almost 2 yrs ago and since I have no money I know these don’t go with the theme but both boys are huge into puzzles so its a good gift from them. I had the You’re turning 5 cards from earlier this year when Dollar Tree near me was selling them 4/$1 so I have other cards for my princess and my oldest son for later in 2013.
