We had a Justin Beiber themed party for my daughters 7th birthday. Bought a poster of JB and some lip shaped stickers and played pinned the kiss on Justin. Also got some dollar store microphones an he girls all sang along to his cd. Lots of fun!

Also a lot of places will book last minute birthday parties for REAL CHEAP… granted it sucks trying to get invites and RSVP’s in a week or so, but if it saves money, it may be worth it. ..

Thanks so much for these tips! I always forget to start with a list. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and I will definitely be using these ideas!

The only thing with planning ahead is not to plan so far in advance that your child’s interests have changed by their birthday. A little girl that’s in love with Justin Beiber today might find him totally uncool in a few months!
Also, another great place to get party supplies is Oriental Trading Company.

Great tips, We have been planning birthday parties for a few months, but I haven’t bought anything just because their minds change LOL… If you are ordering enough, Oriental Trading is a good spot (I HATE paying for sipping!), but also, Amazon has some good deals, too!

Pinterest is an amazing source for inspiration!

This was so great to read! For the past 2 years I’ve waited until the last minute to plan my son’s party and ended up paying way too much. This year I’m starting early! Thanks for sharing such great tips.

I don’t have children or grandchildren but these sound like great tips!! I was going to suggest Oriental Trading also, they seem to have lots of fun stuff. Even our local dollar stores have all kinds of cool party supplies

If you plan far enough ahead you can keep your eye out at dollar stores for party supplies. heir inventory often changes so sometmes you can find great deals

I have like zero creativity. As long as I can go on a site like pinterest and it spells out exactly how to make it, I can probably use these tip! I just don’t see spending sooooo much on a child’s party. I would like to have a party for my son this year turning 6 and I really am NOT going to spend that much. I’m going to take your advice and do as much as I can on my own.

  12. Cheryl L says:

Good tips! Planning ahead is key. I had not thought about keeping a notebook.

  13. Trish Froehner says:

My kids are 30 and 22 so I’m lucky if I even see them on their birthday but I do remember the parties well. Good tips!
