Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017

November 1, 2019 by rautry

One of the best things about Vacation Bible School is all the excitement and for me all the Lifeway VBS 2017 decorating ideas! I find great joy in decorating for VBS and thinking of all the cool craft ideas that I can incorporate into the theme of Lifeway Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 Decoration Ideas and lessons. I am so excited about Lifeway Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 Decoration Ideas. Lets take a closer look at Lifeway Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 Decoration Ideas.

Motto – Searching the Visible, Discovering the Invisible

Scripture – Colossians 1:15-16 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by Him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Site Locations – Worship Rally Under The Stars, Starveyors Clubhouse, Crafts Under The Stars, Music Under The Stars, Missions Under The Stars

  • Starveyors will love heading into the Clubhouse with these simple Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Bible Study Decoration Ideas.

Get Inspired by these Lifeway Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 Decoration Ideas

Get your pencil and paper and get your creative mind thinking with these decorating ideas for Lifeway’s Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 ideas.

As kids focus their telescopes on the marvels painted in the sky by the Creator of the universe, they will discover the wonder among all wonders— that the God who created everything there is—the knowable and the unknowable, the visible and the invisible—wants a personal relationship with them! Invite your kids into the clubhouse and show them the God who is over the moon in love with them.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Hallway Decorations

Night Sky blue or black looks dramatic and builds excitement when your Starveyors head to the Clubhouse for Bible Study. Create this simple backdrop in your hallway to make an impressive VBS Hallway Décor for Lifeways Galactic Starveyors Theme.

The use of unlikely items such as trash bags. You can get a 5 count large black trash bags from Dollar Tree. At a Super VBS conference at Swift Creek Baptist Church they used trash bags on the wall for part of the recreation decorations as pictured below.

As your Starveyors journey through the halls they will enjoy the simple details of small and large stars, planets hanging from the ceiling (Made from paper lanterns and Christmas Tree decorations.

Add a moon here and there from self adhesive shelf/book covers. Add glow in the dark stars or twinkle your stars with battery tea light candles.

Add some handmade planets or purchase these great planet inflatables from Lifeway.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Clubhouse Decorations

Starveyors will walk into the Clubhouse for a Galactic Bible Study. Your clubhouse will be filled with stations to help keep Starveyors moving around the room as you explore different aspects of the Bible Lessons. My favorite age group to work with is Kindergarten. Keep in mind my decorations are geared more to that age group. I have learned the importance of keeping them moving and transitioning to different parts of the room will keep them interested in learning as help them retain more of the lesson. You can find an overview for 1st and 2nd grade Bible Study here and 3rd and 4th grade Bible Study overview.

Lifeway places Kindergarten with the preschool age, I like the rotation of having a different place to go for music, crafts and missions however with the setup my home church uses we have all three of these rotations in the classroom so I create my room in four different areas.

Bible Story time in my classroom is typically down on a carpet. Here we introduce our lesson of the day and welcome any new Starveyors. We do a brief announcement of our missions project collection and how many VBS Bucks they have each earned.

Galactic Starveyors 2017 Bible Lessons

Lifeway generally has 4-5 Bible Activities to reiterate the Bible Lesson. You can check out all 5 day lessons for Kindergarten here.

Around your clubhouse fill the walls with posters. You can find a United States map at Dollar Tree as shown below.

Lifeway makes it pretty simple with these. If you are a small church or supplying your own decorations consider looking for posters from NASA or other space posters.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Worship Rally Decorations

Galactic Music rotation for our kindergarten class is in our classroom so I create a specific area in our classroom designated for music. Like Bible Study we use the carpet area so our Starveyors can get up and move around. Below is  picture from Lifeway Galactic Starveyor for Worship Rally also serves as the area for music rotation.

Create your background similar to where your church is located if you are in a more rural area using trees is your friend.

If you are in a more city area making a skyline with the clubhouse on top might be better suited. You can make them out of the thick foam or use cardboard.

Cardboard Trees are simple to make. Invest in a hot knife if you are able. This will save you frustration and time in cutting.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Missions Decorations

Galactic Missions. We have found it very helpful for kindergartners to sit at the table while watching the Missions Video. If we setup an area of chairs without table we have wiggly bodies that tend to be disruptive. Hence we have learned the table helps with them keeping calm and attentive. This is also the area in the classroom we have our prop telescope to remind starveyors at our world around us can greatly be affected by our small acts as one person.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Craft Ideas

Galactic Starveyor Preschool Crafts from Lifeway can get costly depending on the size of your expected attendance. I am all for keeping the cost per participant low, so I created the list of alternative galactic starveyors crafts that you can ask for donations from your church.

Simple items such as straws, pipe cleaners, party ribbon, beads, construction paper and many other craft items can be purchase at Dollar Tree.

These pipe cleaner stars below are made from Pipe Cleaners and Straws. You can see the full Galactic Star craft tutorial from this link.

Simple crafts for preschoolers are always a great alternative, like the construction paper apple with worm. Full Apple/Worm Stick tutorial can be found at this link. Use construction paper, piple cleaners, tape and popsicle sticks all purchased from Dollar Tree.

Inspired Lifeway Galactic Starveyors Snack Ideas

We journey through the halls once again and make our way over to recreation and snacks. I am always impressed with the decorations that come about in our snack area. Linda and Gordon do a wonderful job.

Complete your table settings with these silver star plates from Dollar Tree. They come in a 12 pack. Perhaps your last day of VBS can be the special day with Star plates if you are keeping expenses low.

Not only do you want to build excitement with these Lifeway Galactic Starveyors VBS 2017 Decoration Ideas as your Starveyors enter your snack and refreshment are you will also grab their attention with these Galactic Snack Ideas as shown below.

VBS 2018 Game On Music Decoration Ideas

September 19, 2019 by rautry

I bet you like to sing, especially Vacation Bible School music, right? For our church the Worship Rally and Music is in the same area, our sanctuary. Below are just a few VBS 2018 Game On Music decoration ideas. You can get the entire DIY Step by Step Tutorials for all the Music decorations by purchasing the Game On eBook and SVG files.

Just a note: I am in no way affiliated with Lifeway. Ideas presented below and in the eBook as well as printables are created by me and are inspired by the 2018 VBS theme.

1. Entry Way Silhouettes

I wrote about the large silhouettes of Sports Players and Band Members below for the Stage, but I also think these would be great for entry ways. Our church has two entry hallways that lead to our Sanctuary. You can purchase the Game On Inspired Decorations eBook with SVG, PNG, PDF Files for $14.99 and get over 30+ printables.

2. Large Sports Balls

Use plastic tablecloths from Dollar Tree to create these large sports balls. Make sure to buy the round tablecloths for the round balls.

  • White – Soccer ball, Volleyball, Baseball
  • Yellow – Volleyball
  • Brown – Football
  • Orange – Basketball
  • Light Green – Tennis

For complete instructions with pictures on how to make the sports balls you can purchase the How to Decorate for Game On eBook with files.

3. Game On Music Notes

     What you Need:

  • Music Notes SVG Cut table File
  • Scissors or Cutting machine
  • Black Cardstock
  • Painters Tape
  • Fishing Wire
  • Hole Punch
  • White crayon or pencil
  • Paper clip or clear tape

    How to Make:

1. Print the Music Notes found in files folders.

2. Cut out the shapes and trace onto the black cardstock.

3. Cut out the shapes and use painters tape to place on the wall.

4. If using a cutting machine open the SVG file and cut out the shapes onto black cardstock.

5. Use a hole punch to puncture a hole in the notes to hang with finishing wire.

6. Tie on fishing wire through the punched hole. The other end use a paper clip to clip to a grid ceiling otherwise use clear tape to place on the ceiling.

Just a Note: Make sure to have sharp scissors because as pictured below I used kid scissors that were not very sharp and my cut is all jagged.

4. Band Instruments

     What you Need:

  • Band Instrument SVG Cuttable Files
  • Black Cardstock
  • Hole Punch
  • Fishing Wire
  • Painters Tape

     How to Make:

  1. Print Band Instruments or Open SVG file in a Cutting Machine.
  2. Cut out Instrument Images
  3. Hole punch on one end if hanging with fishing wire. Use painters tape to tape to wall.

5. Music Stands

You might be able to find some music stands around your church. If not, you make your own from tripods and some cardboard. Simply use a large piece of cardboard around the size of 11 x 17 inches and tape it to the tripod. Add a 1 – 2 inch width by 17 in long cardboard strip to the bottom of the larger piece sticking out so it looks more like a Locker.

Pep Rally Signs

Music Instrument Inflatables

I purchased the majority of these at Goodwill. I almost got rid of them since I am no longer doing photobooths. That is what I purchased them for! Glad I didn’t. These will be great for hanging in the music area.

How to Save on Wedding Favors

September 14, 2019 by rautry

The easiest way to cut out part of the budget of a wedding is by not having any wedding favors! However it is nice to give those you appreciate coming to your special day a way to remember it by.

There are so many ideas of wedding favor you can make but I would suggest only doing a couple and preferably favors that are simple to make or purchase because chances are your quest will not take them, or they end up trashing them with in the year.

Some of the most thoughtful wedding favors can be handmade. You can put together a CD of pictures, a booklet of family recipes, a CD of songs, be creative. There are many things you can do.

Check out your nearest Dollar Tree there is always fun ideas you can do as well as there are plenty of wedding pre-made favors to choose from.

Start early because yard sales are a great place to find cheap and inexpensive wedding favors.

Google search for ideas on what you can do. Always set a budget for how much you want to spend over all and how much you want to spend per person.

Your Ultimate Guide to a Stress-Free Wedding Rehearsal: Free Checklist Printable Included!

Planning a wedding is an exciting journey, but it can also be overwhelming with the myriad of details to organize. One crucial aspect that often gets overlooked in the midst of wedding preparations is the wedding rehearsal. A well-executed rehearsal ensures that everything runs smoothly on the big day. To make your wedding rehearsal stress-free and organized, we’ve created the perfect solution for you – a free wedding rehearsal checklist printable! In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the importance of a rehearsal, the key components of a successful one, and how our checklist can be your go-to resource.

Why a Wedding Rehearsal Matters:

A wedding rehearsal serves as a run-through of the ceremony, allowing everyone involved to familiarize themselves with their roles and responsibilities. It’s a chance to iron out any kinks, ensuring that the actual wedding day unfolds seamlessly. Here’s why a rehearsal is a must:

  1. Smooth Transitions: Practice makes perfect. A rehearsal gives the bridal party, officiant, and vendors the opportunity to practice their entrances, exits, and movements during the ceremony.
  2. Coordination: Ensure that everyone is on the same page by coordinating the timing of each element, from processional to recessional. This ensures a harmonious and well-timed ceremony.
  3. Logistics and Setup: Familiarize everyone with the ceremony space, allowing for adjustments and fine-tuning of the setup. This includes positioning of chairs, altar decorations, and any other logistical considerations.
  4. Vendor Coordination: If you have hired vendors like photographers, videographers, or musicians, the rehearsal is the perfect time to communicate with them and ensure they are aware of the schedule and any specific requirements.
  5. Comfort and Confidence: A rehearsal helps calm nerves and boosts the confidence of everyone involved. Knowing what to expect on the big day contributes to a more relaxed and enjoyable ceremony.

Components of a Successful Wedding Rehearsal:

Now that you understand the importance of a wedding rehearsal, let’s delve into the key components that make it successful:

  1. Gathering Everyone: Start by gathering the entire bridal party, including bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, and anyone else playing a role in the ceremony.
  2. Introduction and Overview: The officiant should introduce themselves and provide an overview of the ceremony. This is also a good time for the couple to express their gratitude and set a positive tone.
  3. Processional and Recessional Practice: Walk through the processional and recessional, ensuring that everyone knows their cue, pace, and positioning.
  4. Vows and Rings: If you’re exchanging personalized vows or have special ring-related elements, practice them during the rehearsal to ensure a heartfelt and flawless delivery.
  5. Logistics Walkthrough: Take a walkthrough of the ceremony space, noting any specific logistics such as seating arrangements, altar setup, and microphones.
  6. Communication with Vendors: Coordinate with vendors present at the rehearsal, confirming their roles and ensuring they are familiar with the venue.
  7. Contingency Planning: Discuss contingency plans for unexpected situations, such as inclement weather for outdoor ceremonies.

$5 Wedding Centerpiece Rebecca Autry Creations

September 14, 2019 by rautry

So yes I totally ripped this off from my Sister-in-laws Wedding but hers were not made from the Dollar Tree. These are just as good in my opinion and a great way to cut costs.

What to Buy:

1. Vases. There are all kinds of different types at Dollar Tree but choose one and determine how many you need and buy all at once. If your Dollar Tree location does not have enough ask them to call another one and see if they have them. If not you can order in bulk on DollarTree.com. This might be the easier way if you can wait a few days.

2. Rocks. Dollar Tree has many different color rocks. Choose a color to accent your wedding. They have from clear to teal to many other colors.

3. Flowers. There are many flowers to choose from but be careful that the flowers you get you get enough to use for the tables plus elsewhere and make sure your flowers have all their petals and no rips and so forth.

4. Flower Tea Candles. Again choose a color to accent your wedding and be sure to get enough for all your decoraitons.

5. Flower Petals. You can find white, pink and a light purple bag of petals. You may be able to find other colors online.

What you Need:

– Vases

– Rocks

– Flowers

– Water

– Flower Petals

How to Make:

1. Take the vase and add the rocks to the middle of the vase.

2. Fill the vase halfway with water and then add the a few flowers sticking the stem into the rocks. Make sure the rocks are holding up the flowers.

3. Add the flower pedal candle to the candle and let float.

4. Add pedals around the vase to give more volume and make the vase more decorative.
