Are you super excited as I am about Vacation Bible School. Lifeway theme Submerged. Do you need some great decoration ideas that are super easy.

Submerged Music Decorations #VBS2016

As pictured above the coral reefs were made from 1 inch Styrofoam that can be purchased at Lowes or Home Depot. Use a heat nice and cut out your coral reef. As you paint make sure to realize that you will need to use more paint than you think since it will soak in the paint.

Add some blue paper for your under water look. You can also use blue plastic tablecloths that you can buy from Dollar Tree.

Under Water Bubble Decoration Ideas for Submerged VBS 2016

Here are a few ideas that you can use to make under water bubble decorations for your VBS.

1. Christmas Ornaments

These Christmas Ornaments were part of a big container from Target that had 60 in the box. 12 of each color. I got them on Clearance after Christmas for $1.50 for the entire box. Pictured are the blue only. I really like the glitter because walking down the hallway they sparkle!

2. Clear Plastic Desert Plates

You can find the desert plastic plates for $1 for 8 count at Dollar Tree. Simple and inexpensive way to make some bubbles. Either  tape on fishing wire to hang or tape them directly to the walls. These will make great bubbles.

3. Plastic Storage Bags

Get a pack of Sandwich bags from Dollar Tree and cut out some circles. Tape these directly to the walls. Make a bubble mark in a corner to make them stand out a bit more.

4. Paper Plate Circles

Simple right? Yes they are! Get various shades of blue construction paper or paper plates or card stock and cut different sizes of circles add a bubble mark in the corner and either add fishing line to hand from the ceiling or tape them directly to the walls. Even the children can help you make these!

5. Clear or White Balloons

Very simple! The hard part is going out of the way to find the clear balloons. You can find white at Dollar Tree or Walmart but the clear balloons you will need to go to a craft or party store to get them. Don’t forget an air pump or you can fill them with helium. If you do helium, wait till the first day of VBS so they last all week and your participants can take one home at the end of the week.

How to Make a Princess Castle Pinata

November 10, 2019 by rautry

How to Make a Princess Castle Pinata

What you Need:

– Square Box atleast 8×8 inches

– Smaller Cardboard box 4×4 inches

– 4 Paper Towel Rolls (No Paper Towels)

– Tissue Paper in the colors you want the castle to be.

– Bungy Cord or Thick Rope

– Duck Tape

– Candy

– Filler Paper (Newspaper or Tissue Paper is fine)

– 2 sheets of Card Stock

– Glue

How to Make:

1. Take the smaller Box the 4×4 inches and determine the middle for the top. This will be where you put the bungy cord or thick String as a loop to hold the pinata on the cord to move from side to side and up and down.

2. Attach the bungy on the box and secure it.

3. Attach this smaller box on top of the larger box using the Duct Tape.

4. Take the 4 Paper Towel Rolls and Cut a slit vertical on each. Attach each one to the 4 corners of the larger box using Duck Tape.

5. Take the 2 Sheets of Card Stock and cut in half short ways.

6. Make each slice of paper into a cone and attach to the top of each corner using Duck Tape.

7. It is not necessary to fill in the gaps of each rounded corner but it helps to keep its shape. Use the extra filler paper to do this.

8. Close up the bottoms of each corners using Duck Tape.

9. Draw on windows and doors where you want them at. This is where you get to be creative.

10. Cut your tissue papers into about 1 inch squares and attach to the coordinating colors where you want them at.

11. I had some left over princess valentines cards and just cut out the princesses and placed them in the window areas on my castle.

12. It took time but it was all worth it for my little princess. You could just cover the box with the tissue paper being flat instead of the little squares.

Good Luck! And have Fun! Sorry I did not have pictures for each step, I created mine over 3 yrs ago and I wasn’t blogging then.

What would make your heart jump out a million times

November 10, 2019 by rautry

So what would make your heart jump out a million times over in a matter of seconds?

Above pictured is my power bill we just got with a termination notice in a week. YIKES. So how did we get here? Well you can read about how we are paying for the wrong meter!

Yup you read that right we are paying for the wrong meter. a meter that is not even attached to our home or in our neighborhood.

We hadn’t received a call or letter in the mail so while I was thinking about it I called yesterday at the same time I login online to see our bill and have the info in front of me to see if there was any resolution.

My heart started pounding quickly and jumped in and out a million times when I saw this amount.

That wasn’t it. Yesterday was Feb. 6th and the termination notice was for Feb. 15th. We do not have that kind of money at all, I was horrified. The representative came on and naturally asked how would like to take care of our bill to avoid termination. I was like “Ummmmmm, I’m not paying anything until I know what is going on.”

She had to place me on hold to look into things. She came back on about 4-5 mins. later and gave me a number to call at 4 pm if I do not receive a call before then about my account.

I got a call this morning assuring me they are taking care of our bill and will adjust it accurately to the day we moved in so we should see a size-able credit to our account. We will still owe some for the current month but no way near the amount we had been paying for the other persons meter.

So I can now sit down and rest a moment but my I’m sure I won’t rest well until I see our electric bill adjusted according to our actual usage.

Thanks for reading.
