My Kindergarten son has spirit week this week and unfortunately I was very forgetful on Monday and forgot to send my son with a Mustache for Mustache day.

I made it up with Beach day on Tuesday even sending him with swimming goggles.

Wednesday was Pajama Day which was pretty easy

Then today Thursday is Dress like a Teacher or old person. I dont have a wig or cane or walker so the best I could do was dress him like a teacher. He has a female teacher and since he doesnt always understand when he is being laughed at I wasnt going to let him dress like a girl. So below is what I came up with.

What do you think. The shirt and vest are from my sister. Glasses are the 3-D glasses from the theater that the kids brought home and lenses were taken out.

So it occurred to me that Social Media like Facebook and twitter created added stress to High School relationships.

I’m sure the media has covered this to no end but I wanted to post a few things that Social media impacts any relationship.

1. Because of Social Media your relationships are now displayed publicly. Now many people are able to see your fights, arguments, and joyful moments. It makes it easier for friends and family to become involved and take sides.

Not to long ago relationships among kids and teens were dealt with face to face or lack of but now with social media those issues are taken to a new level which has also led to cyber bullying which was not something I even grew up with.

2. How do you handle a breakup – This is tough! How would a teen handle a breakup whether it is a bad breakup or a mutual, do you de-friend them? Do you delete photos? Will you block them on social media?

3. Future Jealousy – Here is something couples now will face. Past experiences with others will hinder future relationships. Here is what I mean. Say you had a previous boyfriend and the two of you were big into going to the theatre and seeing plays. Now with a newer boyfriend or even fiance you both have interests in other things that you do together. Sometime in your life you will need to deal with those past images posted to social media outlets. Will you remove them? How will you handle it. Yes it was a different time its part of your life but you will have to deal with how it will impact your current relationship and future relationships. How will handle when you have kids and they start asking why didn’t you do this with daddy or mommy?

So there is my two cents about social media creating stress in relationships.

So I was totally that mom that just walked into Walmart in her night clothes!

With in 5 mins. of me I have Food Lion, Family Dollar, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Target, Sam’s Club and tons of restaurants and department stores.

I am so use to shopping Kroger open 24 hrs that I only shop at Wal-Mart or anywhere else if I need to. So to much my surprise I pulled up to Food Lion and got to the front door and realized they don’t open till 7am and more disturbing to me is they close at 11pm!

So yes I took myself dressed in my night clothes and drove over to Wal-mart. Why? You must be asking yourself this! Well here is the advantage of being a couponer. I buy nonperishable foods at their lowest prices so my shelves are always full but what I can’t buy in stockpile is my perishable items which the main part to my kids lunches is part of that. You can read my post on Why Pack.

So I have not been to the grocery store in about 2 weeks and now I really needed to so the kiddos had their fruit and main lunch for the week.

The hubby’s schedule is so sporadic lately that my shopping is also sporadic and even though we had borrowed a car from a friend the past couple days I cannot go shopping with my kids, lets face it my kids voices carry even if they whisper, they have a hard time lately following directions so stores are out of the question.

So yes my plan was to go to Food Lion early this morning before the kids and hubby wake up and since less people shop at Food Lion I was ok with the small amount of people who would see me in my night clothes.

So yes many people at Wal-mart saw me in my night clothes. And in a world of convienence it did not occur to me that stores actually have store hours since many of the stores near me at open early and close late or open 24/7 also I live near the airport and near a few colleges.

Ok here is one of the times I will be brutally honest with you all. We are in a financial hardship right now. I’m not going to sugar coat it or anything. I know many of you are struggling just as much as us.

A couple months ago my husband’s job changed making earnings way less than what we were getting. I’m not talking about Obama’s new taxes or anything to that end. Circumstances just changed. We have been filling out applications, going to interviews and I thought I had a job but it did not pan out as what we needed nor did it work out.

The plus side is my hubby has gotten more hours, I’m making a bit more blogging and we do get to spend more time as a family.

So with a financial hardship comes bills and trying to juggle everything is very crazy. When there is no money there is no money.

So why is this entitled Paying for the Wrong Meter? Because we had a electric issue and thought that it has been resolved. If you saw my post back in December on facebook I had asked what the cause for use of 12K KWH in 5 days. Well we have 2 units and it had nothing to do with the well water we just needed Freon and both units were running on auxillary which we did not know that at the time.

I had made the initial call the power company to see what arrangements we could make on our bill since we could not pay it in full. With the work of getting the rental group to fix our problem of Freon and AEP we made arrangements and thought the whole situation was fixed. Now we did know that on the new bill we would see the extreme high usage because of the problem so when I looked at our bill this morning yes it was high but not nearly as high as we thought. So looked closer.

The usage should have been 12K plus the just about 2K we used in those 31 days between Meter readings but here is where I found the incorrect information.

The meter on our bill said 47036 as read on Jan. 4th Today Jan. 6th it read 57527. No we didn’t use 10K in 2 days. When I read the meter on Dec. 8th our reader said 55587.

So you see from Dec. 8th to Jan. 6th we used 1,960 KWH according to the meter on our house that we have pictures of.

So I called our power company to once again see what re-arrangements we can make and to ask about the Meter.

They had me go outside and read off the Meter Id # and guess what we found. The one they are reading is not the Meter we have connected to the house. So they asked us if we are in a apartment complex or have another home connected to ours which we don’t. So the long short of the story is they are sending a technician to take a picture of the Meter connected to our home and trying to locate the Meter that they have been reading for our home.

So as for arrangements right now they have locked our account until they can locate the misreading and credit us on our actual reading. Thankfully the Meter we do have they have the meter reading each month from when we moved in so the representative said there is a definite credit to be issued to our account.

So I am very thankful that I do not need to make a payment until its resolved because we certainly do not have any to pay right now.

They told us it will take 2-4 weeks before they can resolve the issue. so yeah now we wait but atleast that’s on thing I don’t need to worry about for a few weeks.

Sorry to vent but this season of our lives seem very scary to me. I know we will get passed it.

Superman Favor Bags

What you Need:

• Blue Favor Bags
• Black, Yellow, Red Construction Paper or Card Stock
• Glue ore double sided tape
• Cutting Machine or scissor for manual cutting

How to Make:

Step 1

First you will need to get your Superman Shapes. You can get the FREE Superman Favor Bag SVG, PDF, PNG shape here. The File downloads as a zip file. You will need to unzip the compressed file to use the files on a cutting machine or print out. Make sure to separate the layers with “To Each Its Own.”

Step 2

Once you have your shapes cut out you will need to get your red favor bags. You can purchase these at Dollar Tree for 10 count for $1. They can be found in the party section of the store.

Step 3

Glue the pieces down in the center of the bag first with the base then yellow then red.

That is it! You are done!

Baseball Favor Bag Tutorial

What you Need:

• White Lunch Bags
• Red Thick Sharpie

How to Make:

1. First gather all your materials. There is not that many so be sure you have them all before you begin!
2. Lay your White Paper bag on the Table.
3. Take your red thick sharpie and draw mirrored half moons on each side of the bag face outwards.
4. Now take that same red thick sharpie and draw on hash marks about 1 cm from each. Start from the top and go down. Repeat this for each half moon.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the back side of the bag.

That is it! You are done.

So what kind of Food items can I serve for a Power Rangers Samurai Birthday Party.

My sister is making the cake. She got cake mixes for $.25 at a local grocery store near here awhile back so no need to buy cake mixes.

I was sure I would need to buy some eggs for the cake and milk. But guess what when I was at BlogHer I was given some coupons for different products and I even got some from other frugal bloggers. I don’t remember exactly if I won or whom gave me these coupons but they are for FREE dozen. I had 2 of them so I was excited. Now I don’t need to worry about eggs.

The past 4 days I have been putting a list of items that I think I need to purchase. As the days have been going by I have been able to cross off items that I have found around my house.

I told you I had found 2 FREE coupons from Kroger 1 for Free Frozen Vegetables and the other for 1 free pourable dressing.

So after much thought I decided on getting broccoli and cauliflower since its cost more than the carrots I originally was going to get.

Well I have been purging alot of items from our house in hopes to live a more simple and less cluttered life so I purged coupons today. You see I only clip those that I will use and the rest go towards giveaways and classes I teach. Well I found 2 more FREE coupons 1 for 1lb bag of baby carrots and 1 Kraft Dressing.

I also thought of an idea that since Samurai ‘s eat alot of noodles I can take the Manchuran noodles and divide them into smaller cups. Keep in mind this party is mid-afternoon so not meant as a meal but a snack. My sister said she has about 60 little cups not big enough for drinks but great for fruit cups or even my idea of cups of noodles.

I asked the hubby what else can I do food wise? His response is sushi! Well I don’t have sushi but when we did my hubbies graduation party my sister made these incredible ham rolls that look like sushi. I am pretty sure I have all the ingredients she would need to make them. I would only need to get the ham.

As for the punch I make my own special kind. Its become the center of the snacks! I make it different every time. You Can see Moms Saving Money Birthday Party Punch Recipe. I guarantee that people will ask you whats in it. Its kinda addicting! I promise no alcohol is involved whatsoever!

On that note I have all ingredients I will use minus sherbet so if I have the funds I will pick some up but if not this time I may not be getting any, I will know later this week.

I have tons of chips I can set out as well. My mother in-law cleaned out her pantry from items they will no longer be eating to be healthier so she gave me about 6 bags of chips. Many of them are baked so pretty healthy.

So can you think of any other ideas I can serve?

These are great for a Spiderman or Avengers theme party. Very easy and inexpensive to make. You can make 10 for less than $1.20 or so. The red paper bags are 10 ct from Dollar Tree. Wal-mart has the same red bags but cost around $.33 each.

What you Need:

– Red Paper Favor Bags 10 count from Dollar Tree

– Black, White Cardstock

– Black Sharpie

– Ruler

– Glue Stick

How to Make:

Step 1

Lay your red paper favor bags flat on a table top. Take your black sharpie and draw straight lines using a ruler. Corner to Corner (diagonally) and straight across and up and down.

Step 2

Draw in the web connecting the lines making two rows using your black sharpie marker. Make sure to go around the entire front of the paper bag.

Step 3

Cut your Spidey eyes from white cardstock or construction paper. The base is black slightly larger than the white.

Step 4

Glue the white spidey eyes on top of the black base and then glue the black onto the bag. Make sure the are secured down and the glue dries. You can use double sided tape that can also be found at Dollar Tree.

That is it! You’re Done!

Here is something I learned today. Our living room has been a bit chili even though our inside temp says 75.

Well while we were waiting on snow to appear we had the curtains pulled back and I went to shut them a little and noticed the breeze coming from the top of the window. Sure enough it was open.

I then decided to check the other window. Same thing it was open at the top.

About an hour later after dinner we decided to get the kids ready to go play outside in the snow, as I went to the restroom I felt another draft similar to the one before. I checked the window and yup that one too was open.

I then decided to check our bedroom windows and yup those were open too! So guess what I decided to go through out the house and check them all.

Most of the remaining windows were also open at the top.

The odd thing is all of them were unlocked and opened about an inch each.

So do me a favor and go take a look at all your windows and make sure they are open or shut to your liking because you might feel an unwanted draft!
